This is a very moist, chocolately cake without being plain chocolate cake. It's so yummy warm that it doesn't need a frosting at all. Whipped cream is always a great garnish, but it's not necessary.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour boiling water over oats; let sit 10 minutes.
1 3/4 cup boiling water
1 cup quick oats
Add sugars and butter and stir until butter melts.
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cube butter
Add 2 eggs and mix well.
Combine the dry ingredients and add them.
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 TB cocoa
Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips
Pour into greased 9x13.
Sprinkle on top:
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Bake for about 35 minutes.
