In a big bowl combine:
12 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 TB cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp salt
1-2 cups chopped nuts, sesame seeds
In saucepan on stove combine until smooth:
1 cup oil (coconut or canola--or half and half)
1 1/4 cup honey (I do a little less)
1 TB vanilla
Pour wet ingredients over dry ingredients and mix well. Spread on 2 cookie sheets and stir every 20 minutes until desired crispness (45-60 minutes). Once cool, add 1-2 cups raisins if desired (I've decided to keep them out and whoever likes them can add them to their own bowl). Store in airtight container in pantry.

I did a hybrid between this and Megan's granola on allrecipes. I like that this is one is simple and Tom and kids loved it.
I did
10 c old F oats
1 c wheat germ
1 c finely ch pecans
1/4 c dry milk
1 T vanilla
1 T cinnamon
1/2 T salt
1 c coconut oil
3/4 c honey
1/4 c maple syrup
Loose packed 1/2 c brown sugar
Add coconut and craisins after.
I like mine sweet so I wouldn't cut down the sugar, but I couldn't taste the maple (and I bought real), so I might not bother. Maybe mapleine if you want serious flavor--I'd also like to try w coconut or almon extract.
